Last Wednesday, May 7, we received in our facilities Mar Paños, the General Director of Industrial Promotion and Innovation of the Government of Aragon. Her visit was part of the follow-up on the projects benefiting from the 2024 aid call for the textile and footwear sectors, in which Lacor Textil has been one of the ten selected companies in Aragon.
During her tour of our plant in Plaza, Paños highlighted that “Lacor Textil is an example of innovation and development. It is what we seek with the aid to so-called mature sectors,” appreciating the effort of companies to modernize and become more competitive. She also wanted to emphasize the importance of collaboration between administrations and private companies: “It is very positive to see how public-private collaboration works. The aids should serve to boost business activity, and Lacor Textil is an example of that.”
Thanks to the support of the Government of Aragon, we have been able to make an investment of more than 175,000 euros, of which 50,000 euros correspond to the aid received, the maximum established per company. This boost has allowed us to automate processes, incorporate new storage shelves, and improve the climate control of our facilities, with the goal of continuing to move towards more efficient, sustainable production focused on the well-being of our team.
With eight years of experience, Lacor Textil continues to grow. We currently have 300 employees with permanent contracts and reach up to 500 during peak demand periods, with a workforce made up of 65% women. Since 2020, we have tripled our production capacity, and we continue to work to consolidate this growth and face new challenges with enthusiasm.
